Eye Style
This past spring, one of my closest friends went to Eye Style for artificial eyelashes. She not only gave her recommendation because Aarti is so talented, but she also gave me coupons, so I was sold. I started out with an eyebrow wax and the least expensive lashes a girl can get back in April. I have admittedly worked my way up to the more expensive eyelashes, but we all have our vices. I don’t spend hours at the nail salon every few weeks, so I indulge in fill-ins and skip a daily fight with mascara.
Aarti has easily become a friend as we chat during my visits about kids and work. She is patient with me when I eavesdrop on her Hindi conversations and I ask her if I can guess what some of the words are in English. (So far, I’m still betting my odds at learning Spanish). I have fallen asleep during appointments, which is always followed by an insane body jerk when I startle back awake. In these instances, she hasn’t laughed even once.
