The Woman Strong

Porch – Dated 2 Black

This was one of my favorite paint projects because the contrast (i.e. gratification) was immediate. Timing was a little rough because I had to power-wash the porch first and let it completely dry before painting. Indiana’s spring weather makes the second half of that equation tricky. Then, there was wind, which meant I was fighting leaves and debris while painting. The owner chose not to clear coat the top, which would uphold the paint job but make the surface slick. (I’ve painted a garage floor and another porch floor before, using a paint with a built-in textured coating, but she wanted that on a 2nd try if the normal didn’t work.) I think the pictures below show what a difference in curb appeal a little outside painting can create. The only problem is it led to a desire for more work, namely, power-washing the sidewalk, landscaping, and painting the bottom of the porch poles. Don’t let my hands fool you, though. That would all be fun!
